Orthopedic care

Orthopedic doctors, called orthopedists, take care of your bones and joints. This includes knee pain, total joint replacement, issues that impact your spine and more. You might need to see an orthopedist if you have arthritis or osteoporosis, or if you've had a recent sprain, strain or broken bone.

Orthopedic services

Our highly trained providers offer comprehensive, specialized spine and joint care.

Advanced spine care

The spine is one of the most complex structures in the human body. Our neurologists and orthopedic surgeons work hand-in-hand to provide orthopedic and neurological care for all types of conditions affecting the spine, including herniated discs, nerve pain, spinal stenosis and scoliosis.

Our spine specialists offer a range of surgical spine treatments to treat chronic neck and back pain. Many of our spine surgeries can be performed with minimally invasive techniques. This means you are more likely to have a shorter recovery time after your procedure.

Hand and upper extremity care

Our orthopedists offer specialized care for diseases and injuries affecting the hands and upper extremities. From hand and wrist pain to arm and shoulder pain, we are here to diagnose your condition and find a treatment that restores your quality of life.

We treat a wide range of conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, rotator cuff tears, nerve injuries, sports injuries, fractures and dislocations.

Joint replacement surgery

When conservative treatments are not effective at treating your joint pain, your doctor may recommend joint replacement surgery. As a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement by Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), we offer several joint replacement procedures to help patients with joint injuries and arthritis.

We offer the following types of joint replacement surgery:

  • Hip replacement surgery, including total hip replacement and hip resurfacing
  • Knee replacement surgery, including total and partial knee replacements
  • Shoulder replacement surgery, including total, partial and reverse total shoulder replacements

JFK was recognized by Healthgrades with the 2021 Joint Replacement Excellence Award. We perform a high volume of joint replacement surgeries every year, meaning our physicians and care teams have extensive expertise when it comes to joint replacement. Both our readmission rate and length of stay for orthopedic patients are lower than the Florida state averages.

Complete foot and ankle care

Our foot specialists use the latest assessment and treatment tools to correct foot and ankle problems. This includes reconstructive surgery related to trauma, arthritis or deformity.

Whether you are experiencing severe heel pain or bunions, we are here to help. We are certified in custom casting, splinting and orthotics to treat conditions like sports-related injuries and complex fractures.

Orthopedic rehabilitation services

Physical therapy and rehabilitation is a vital component to comprehensive orthopedic care. Sometimes, physical therapy is used as a primary method of treatment to stretch and work injured ligaments, tendons and joints. Other times, rehabilitation is key to restoring movement following an orthopedic surgery, such as a joint replacement.

We offer physical therapy and rehabilitation services at our Outpatient Therapy Center. Here, our physical therapists and rehabilitation team are highly trained to treat musculoskeletal problems and orthopedic injuries.
