Tampa, Fla. — HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital is pleased to announce that it has fully reopened after the successful transfer of patients and preventive measures taken ahead of Hurricane Helene. The hospital, which temporarily evacuated patients in preparation for the storm, has now resumed normal operations.

In the days before Hurricane Helene, the hospital proactively transferred patients to other facilities within the HCA Florida Healthcare network to ensure their safety. Sunstar Paramedics and National Health Transport (NHT) aided in the swift and safe transfer of patients.

In addition to the evacuation, a Tiger Dam Flooding Control System was deployed around the hospital to prevent flood damage, effectively safeguarding the facility from rising water levels during the storm.

"We are proud of the swift and coordinated response of our team and partners during this challenging time," said Jessica Hoge, chief operating office, HCA Florida Pasadena and St. Petersburg Hospitals. "Thanks to their efforts and the advanced flood control systems we implemented, the hospital was well-protected and is now fully operational again."

The hospital’s leadership has thoroughly inspected the facility to ensure it is safe for both patients and staff. All systems are functioning normally, and the hospital has resumed its full range of services, including emergency care, surgery, and inpatient services.
