HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital opens new Sunstar paramedics sub station to enhance ER response in South Pinellas county
St. Petersburg, FL — HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital announced the opening of a new Sunstar Paramedics sub‑station on its campus, strengthening emergency response capabilities and further supporting timely, lifesaving care for residents across South Pinellas County.
The dedicated sub‑station, located on the grounds of HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital, will serve as a strategic hub for Sunstar Paramedics crews, enabling faster deployment times and improved coordination for ambulance transport and emergency medical services (EMS). Sunstar Paramedics is the county’s sole provider of 911 ambulance services and is nationally recognized for clinical excellence and rapid response.
“This partnership expands our shared commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered emergency care for our community,” said Jessica Hoge, chief operating officer, HCA Florida Pasadena and St. Petersburg Hospitals. “Housing a Sunstar crew directly on campus helps ensure seamless collaboration between first responders and our emergency department, ultimately resulting in faster treatment for patients when minutes matter most.”
The new sub‑station provides dedicated space for ambulance teams to stage between calls, restock supplies, complete documentation and take required breaks. By establishing a home base at HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital, Sunstar will be strategically positioned to reduce response times to surrounding neighborhoods and support the hospital’s emergency services.
The opening of the Sunstar Paramedics sub‑station reflects a shared, ongoing commitment by both organizations to enhance emergency readiness and ensure rapid, efficient care for all who need it.
