HCA Florida Lake City Surgical Specialists celebrates wall-breaking ceremony for new on-campus surgical office
HCA Florida Lake City Surgical Specialists marked the beginning of a renovation project today with a celebratory wall-breaking ceremony. General surgeons Dr. Yi Wang and Dr. Valerie Vazquez joined HCA Florida Lake City Hospital leadership team in taking the first swing — signifying the start of construction on a new, clinical office located directly on the main hospital campus.
"A fresh, modern space that’s specifically designed for surgical consultations will help us deliver an even better experience for those we serve,” said Dr. Vazquez. "Being located right here on the hospital campus means our patients have easy access to pre- and post-surgical care, all in one place.”
The upgraded space will feature:
- Seven exam rooms
- One procedure room for in-office procedures
- Sleeping quarters for general surgeons on call
- A new conference room
- An expanded waiting room for patient comfort
“As we continue to grow and invest in services at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital, this renovation represents another step forward in prioritizing a positive patient experience,” said Jill Adams, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. “By bringing additional general surgeons on campus, we’re streamlining care, enhancing convenience, and ensuring our patients have continued direct access to the high-quality services they need, close to home.”
This renovation project follows the recent grand opening of a new two-story patient tower at the hospital, which expanded surgical services to include five operating rooms, doubled the hospital’s overall surgical space, and included new state-of-the-art equipment for surgical procedures.
“Over the past 22 months, our practice has grown steadily, our team has performed over 1,200 surgeries, and we’ve had the privilege of caring for numerous inpatients and outpatients of Lake City and surrounding communities,” said Dr. Yi Wang. “From routine procedures to minimally invasive robotic surgeries, we’ve worked hard to provide high-quality, compassionate, personalized surgical care to each patient.”
The newly renovated office space is anticipated to be completed in spring 2026.
