HCA Florida Lake City Surgical Specialists officially unveiled their newly renovated, on-campus surgical office on March 5 with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony — marking a significant milestone in the continued expansion of surgical services at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital.
General surgeons Dr. Yi Wang and Dr. Valerie Vazquez were joined by hospital leadership, colleagues and community members to commemorate the occasion with a ceremonial ribbon cutting outside the new clinical space, now fully operational and serving patients.
“This grand opening represents more than a new office — it reflects our commitment to expanding access to exceptional surgical care in our community,” said Dr. Yi Wang, general surgeon at HCA Florida Lake City Surgical Specialists. “By bringing our practice directly onto the hospital campus, we are strengthening collaboration, improving efficiency and creating a more seamless, supportive experience for every patient we serve.”
Designed to meet the growing needs of the community, the newly completed office features:
- Seven fully equipped exam rooms
- A dedicated in-office procedure room
- On-call sleeping quarters for general surgeons
- A private conference room for care collaboration
- An expanded, patient-focused waiting area
The new location streamlines pre-operative consultations, inpatient care and post-surgical follow-up — reducing barriers and improving convenience for patients and families.
“The opening of this surgical office represents a meaningful step forward in strengthening healthcare access in community,” said Jill Adams, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. “We are making purposeful investments in people, technology and facilities to ensure our community has access to advanced, coordinated surgical care close to home. This new space allows us to better serve today’s patients while preparing for tomorrow’s needs.”
Since the practice opened in 2023, HCA Florida Lake City Surgical Specialists general surgeons have performed over 1,500 surgeries, reflecting both the growth of the practice and the increasing demand for high-quality surgical services in the region.
“The growth we’ve experienced is a direct reflection of the confidence our patients and community have placed in our team,” said Dr. Valerie Vazquez, general surgeon. “With this location, we are building on that trust — expanding our capabilities, enhancing access to advanced minimally invasive and robotic procedures, and strengthening our commitment to delivering exceptional surgical care with precision and compassion.”
The grand opening builds upon recent hospital expansion efforts, including the addition of a two-story patient tower that opened in April 2025. The tower doubled the hospital’s surgical footprint, expanded to five operating rooms and introduced state-of-the-art surgical technology. Together, these investments underscore HCA Florida Lake City Hospital’s long-term commitment to strengthening healthcare access across Columbia, Hamilton and Suwannee counties.
