Inverness, FL — HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is proud to announce the success of its recent “We Show Up for Our Schools” school supply drive, benefiting the Citrus County Education Foundation’s Supplies 4 Success Teacher Store. Thanks to the incredible generosity of hospital colleagues, the Citrus Hospital team collected and donated an impressive 4,042 essential school supplies to help local educators stock their classrooms and support student success.

“We’re honored to support the incredible work of the Citrus County Education Foundation,” said Lisa Nummi, CEO of HCA Florida Citrus hospital. “Our team is committed to giving back to our community, and this drive reflects that spirit. Each supply donated helps lighten the load for our teachers and ensures students have the tools they need to thrive.”

The Supplies 4 Success Teacher Store provides free classroom materials to Citrus County educators, helping bridge the gap between limited school budgets and the needs of students. HCA Florida Citrus Hospital’s contribution will directly impact classrooms across the county.

“We’re so grateful to HCA Florida Citrus Hospital for this generous donation and continued partnership,” said Shaunda Burdette, executive director of the Citrus county education foundation. “These supplies will make a real difference in classrooms across our county, helping teachers focus on what matters most: educating and inspiring our students. HCA Florida Healthcare truly always shows up!”

“This drive was a true team effort,” said Katie Myers, Citrus hospital director of communications and community engagement. “From notebooks and pencils to markers and glue sticks, every item donated represents our commitment to education and our belief in building a brighter future for Citrus County students.”

This local effort is part of a broader initiative by HCA Florida Healthcare, which has partnered with education foundations across the state to support teachers and students. Through school supply drives, grants, and volunteer efforts, HCA Florida Healthcare is helping build stronger educational foundations and brighter futures for Florida’s youth.
