HCA Florida Black Diamond Emergency to host community hands-only CPR event
Inverness, FL — HCA Florida Citrus Hospital, in partnership with Citrus County Fire Rescue, will host a free community class on hands‑only CPR on Wednesday, February 25, from 2–3 p.m. The event will be held at the new HCA Florida Black Diamond Emergency, located at 3470 W Norvell Bryant Hwy, Lecanto, FL 34461, giving community members an exclusive first look inside the freestanding emergency room before it opens.
Cardiac arrest remains a leading cause of death nationwide, claiming approximately 350,000 lives annually. Despite medical advances, in Florida only one in 10 individuals who experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survive.
“By raising awareness about the importance of immediately calling 911 and activating hands-only CPR until emergency medical crews arrive, we can make a difference,” explained Katie Myers, Director of Communications and Community Engagement at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital. “Often, it is a family member or friend who is first on the scene and we want our community to know that — with a little coaching — they can help save a life. We are delighted to partner with Citrus County Fire Rescue to bring expert instruction directly to our community.”
Participants can also tour the new facility, which will provide the same high level of emergency care as HCA Florida Citrus Hospital’s emergency room.
An RSVP is required and can be completed online at HCAFloridaHealthcare.com or by calling (844) 630‑5295.
