Infant massage classes now offered at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital
HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is excited to offer a new class designed especially for parents and their infants, an infant massage class.
Infant massage offers a wide range of benefits for both baby and caregiver, including enhanced bonding, increased parental confidence and happier infants who may sleep better and cry less. Infant massage can relieve gas and improve digestion too.
In this class, parents will learn how to massage their babies using gentle, nurturing techniques. The instructor will demonstrate each stroke using a doll, so parents can follow along at their own pace with their baby. This class is designed for infants under six months of age.
“My daughter, Audrey had colic the first few months of her life, which has improved thankfully. It is the reason I became interested in the class. She loves the massage, especially during tummy time and after baths. I feel my gentle touch helps her feel secure and connected with me. Our daily massages are truly peaceful movements of love between mom and baby,” said Brittany Schlesener, mom of Audrey Jane Bos. Her daughter is nine weeks old.
This class is taught by one of our experienced parent educators who is currently completing certification through the International Loving Touch Foundation (Certified Infant Massage Instructor - CIMI).
The class will be hosted on the fourth floor of the Orange Tower at Brandon Hospital located at 119 Oakfield Dr. in Brandon.
