Pricing estimates and information

HCA Florida Healthcare is committed to providing meaningful information to our patients related to financial obligations for healthcare services. It is our intent with this website to publish our financial assistance policies and provide a way to obtain an estimate of patient payment amounts for our most commonly scheduled services.

If you have insurance, please see our online . This will provide you with cost estimates based on your specific healthcare coverage. This page also includes a short video explaining how to use the tool and the information it provides.

If you do not have insurance or wish to obtain a quote from a financial representative at our Service Center, we are happy to provide you with an estimate by phone at (800) 617-7044.

When you call our Service Center, please have the following information available, so that we can provide you with the most accurate estimate possible:

  • Description of services needed—We will need to know as much information as possible about the specific services scheduled as described by your physician.
  • Physician's or specialist's name—For example, if you are having surgery, we will want to know the surgeon's name.
  • Type of services needed—We will need to know if you will be admitted to the hospital as an inpatient overnight or if you are expected to be treated on an outpatient basis.

**** Uninsured and self-pay patients are also entitled to a separate Good Faith Estimate under federal law. If you are an uninsured patient who intends to schedule medical treatment and would like to request a Good Faith Estimate, please contact your provider.

What is not included in your online payment estimate?

The estimates provided are only related to your hospital bill. You will be billed separately for services provided to you from your personal physician or other physicians related to your hospital stay. This can include fees related to specialists, anesthesiologists, pathologists and radiologists.

Independent laboratory and radiology services, such as electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG), X-ray and lab work analyses, will be billed separately.

If you have questions about those bills, please call the number printed on the statements you receive.

**** Uninsured and self-pay patients are also entitled to a separate Good Faith Estimate under federal law. If you are an uninsured patient who intends to schedule medical treatment and would like to request a Good Faith Estimate, please contact your provider.

Pre-registration and payments at time of service

When you are ready to proceed with services at our facility, you should contact your physician's office to ask to have your service scheduled.

Pre-registration is available to all scheduled patients prior to the date of service and expedites the registration process upon arrival. All registration information will be obtained over the telephone or via an online option.

When you arrive at the facility, you will be required to provide your identification, finalize financial arrangements and sign a few forms before going to the department to begin your service.

We will ask for your payment, copayment, coinsurance and/or deductible payment at the time of your services based on your specific insurance benefits. We accept all major forms of payment.

Billing insured patients

After receiving services from our hospital, patients with insurance can typically expect the following:

  • A claim will be sent to your insurance company shortly after your services are completed.
  • After your insurance company receives the claim, they may contact you for additional information. Please respond to your insurance company's questions as quickly as possible, so their processing for payment is not delayed.
  • It usually takes 30 to 45 days for your insurance company to process your claim. After your insurance company pays us, we will provide you with information about any amount you may still owe.

Please keep in mind that your policy is a binder between you and your insurance company. If you did not follow your insurance plan's terms, they may not pay for all or part of your care.

Why we do not supply exact quotes through this online payment estimate tool

Because it is our goal to provide patients with useful information, we feel it is our responsibility to share more with you about some of the complications involved in determining patient financial responsibility. Providing you with an estimate of your potential costs is an imperfect process. Although we would like to guarantee our pricing estimates, it would be inappropriate to do so as there are many reasons your payment may be more or less than what we initially estimate.

All estimates are based on information provided to us by a prospective patient. We cannot predict or estimate changes in treatment decisions, unforeseen complications and additional tests or procedures ordered by a physician, among other variables.

**** Uninsured and self-pay patients are also entitled to a separate Good Faith Estimate under federal law. If you are an uninsured patient who intends to schedule medical treatment and would like to request a Good Faith Estimate, please contact your provider.
