Adult inpatient services

We provide inpatient care for adults who are experiencing severe symptoms and need 24-hour supervision and behavioral health treatment.

Care in this program includes counseling and therapeutic activities. We will help you develop strategies for minimizing symptoms, reducing stress and coping with your emotions.

Child and adolescent inpatient services

Adolescents and children experiencing symptoms of behavioral and emotional disorders require specialized care and treatment. We provide this to young patients (ages four to 17) with acute conditions that require 24-hour supervision.

Children and teens in this program will work with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers and recreational therapists. They will help these young patients understand mental illness, developing coping skills and create a preventive treatment plan.

Geriatric behavioral health

This program is designed to treat and improve the lives of people who are 65 years old and older and who are experiencing a behavioral disorder. Special care is taken to meet the emotional and physical needs of this special population, to assure their safety and well-being while in our care.

Our center offers two programs to meet the needs of our senior patients:

  • The senior adult unit is designed for seniors who have a high degree of functionality prior to the onset of psychiatric symptoms. The treatments focus on achieving stability and recovery in a relatively short stay.
  • The senior intensive treatment program is designed for seniors who are in need of a more specialized course of treatment. It typically involves a stay lasting an average of 10 to 12 days. Seniors in this program will benefit from an individualized treatment plan based on their unique needs.

Outpatient behavioral health services

Outpatient programs let you participate in treatment programs during the day but still spend evenings and nights at home. Read more about our outpatient offerings below.

Partial hospitalization program (PHP)

Our PHP is for adults who don't require full-time care. This program offers intensive services and a variety of mental health therapies at the hospital during the day.

Intensive outpatient program (IOP)

Our IOP is offered for adults and adolescents. It is designed to help you cope with symptoms while improving your ability to function independently and enhance your overall quality of life.

In the IOP, you are able to maintain important bonds with your families, friends and community, while we encourage you to have confidence and independence.

For more information about our IOP for adults, call us at (954) 724-6226.

For more information about our IOP for adolescents, call us at (954) 724-6222.

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)

ECT is a safe, effective treatment option for people with severe conditions that do not respond favorably to pharmacological interventions. We encourage you to talk to your doctor if you think you may benefit from this treatment.

Call for a free ECT consultation

What to expect during an ECT treatment

During ECT, electrodes are placed on the scalp and a finely controlled electric current is applied while you are under general anesthesia.

ECT is usually used up to three times a week for a total of two to four weeks.

Who can benefit from ECT

ECT is one of the fastest ways to relieve symptoms in severely depressed or suicidal patients. It's also very effective for patients experiencing from mania and other mental illnesses. ECT is generally used when conditions are unresponsive to other forms of therapy. It might also be used when patients pose a severe threat to themselves or others, and it is too dangerous to wait until medications take effect.

Addiction recovery support groups

The Pavilion at our hospital hosts several addiction recovery support groups. These groups supplement the care provided by our hospital; however, they are all facilitated by outside organizations. This means our hospital does not oversee cancellations or attendance.
