Our heart care program
Our heart doctors are trained to provide a range of high-quality services.
Cardiac catheterization laboratory (cath lab)
A cardiac catheterization lab (cath lab) is an area where skilled specialists use advanced, minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat a wide range of heart conditions with precision and care. As part of Florida’s largest cardiovascular network, we are dedicated to helping you understand your heart health and receive the right care at the right time.
- Coronary angiography — Diagnoses conditions using an injectable dye and X-ray technology
- Coronary interventions — Treats blocked or narrowed arteries
- Biopsies — Removes small pieces of tissue for closer examination with a microscope
- Other diagnostics — Checks the pressure and pumping abilities of the heart's chambers
Electrophysiology (EP) services
Electrophysiology (EP) is a specialized area of heart care focused on diagnosing and treating irregular heart rhythms, such as atrial fibrillation (AFib). Using advanced technology and minimally invasive procedures, our specialists evaluate the heart's electrical system and provide personalized treatment options to help restore a healthy heart rhythm.
- Electrophysiology studies (EPS) — Evaluates the heart's electrical activity to identify the cause of abnormal heart rhythms
- Cardiac ablation — Treats arrhythmias by targeting the areas of the heart responsible for irregular electrical signals
- Pacemaker implantation — Helps regulate heart rhythms that are too slow or irregular
Cardiopulmonary services we offer
We know that your heart health is an important part of your overall well-being. To better understand how your heart and lungs are working, our cardiologists use a variety of tests, including:
- Bronchoscopy — Allows doctors to view the inside of the lungs using a thin tube attached to a small camera
- Diffusion study — Helps evaluate lung function by measuring how well the air sacs in the lungs are delivering oxygen to the blood
- Echocardiogram — Uses sound to produce images of the heart
- Electrocardiogram (EKG) — Measures electrical activity in the heart
- Lung volume measurement — Measures the maximum amount of gas exhaled during breathing
- Spirometry — Measures how quickly, and in what amounts, you inhale and exhale air
- Stress testing — Measures heart performance during increased physical activity, such as being on a treadmill
