Pelvic floor physical therapy

Pelvic floor muscles help support internal organs and aid with the proper functioning of the bladder and bowels. An appropriate balance of strength and relaxation is needed for pelvic floor muscles to function normally.

Certain factors, such as increased age, pregnancy and hysterectomy recovery, can cause pelvic floor muscles to weaken. Weak muscles in the pelvic floor can cause urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and fecal incontinence.

We offer pelvic floor physical therapy to help prevent urinary leakage and treat urinary incontinence.

Pelvic floor physical therapy features:

  • Education on proper diet to improve overall health and quality of life
  • Education on proper techniques to aid in pelvic floor health
  • Strengthening exercises for the core and pelvic floor muscles

If you would like to learn more about pelvic floor physical therapy, please call (850) 325-5269.
