Tristan Torbett

On August 26, 2024, a workplace accident changed Tristan Torbett’s life forever. While refilling a tractor, he suffered severe burns and was rushed to HCA Florida Blake Hospital, one of only six Verified Burn Centers in Florida. His injuries were extensive — third-degree burns on his chest, shoulder, and left arm, second-degree burns on his face and first-degree burns on his forehead.

Tristan underwent multiple surgeries to remove damaged tissue and stabilize his condition. Throughout his long recovery, he leaned on the unwavering support of his father, Dave. In a heartfelt letter, Dave recounted the terrifying moment his son fell into his arms while still on fire, expressing deep gratitude to the care team at HCA Florida Blake Hospital for their expert care.
