St. Petersburg Hospital celebrates ribbon cutting for new CT scanner in emergency department

St. Petersburg, Fla. — HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital is proud to announce the official ribbon cutting of its newly installed, state-of-the-art CT scanner in the Emergency Department. This significant investment underscores the hospital’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, timely and advanced diagnostic care to the St. Petersburg community.

The ribbon cutting ceremony, held on Friday, May 16, brought together hospital leadership, emergency department staff, physicians and community partners to celebrate the addition of this cutting-edge technology. The new CT scanner enhances the hospital’s ability to quickly diagnose and treat patients experiencing critical health emergencies, including stroke, trauma and cardiac events.

“This new CT scanner represents a major step forward in our mission to provide exceptional emergency care,” said Stephanie Nelson, director of emergency services at HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital. “By bringing this advanced imaging technology directly into the Emergency Department, we are reducing wait times, accelerating diagnoses and ultimately improving outcomes for our patients.”

The new CT scanner is part of a broader initiative to expand and modernize emergency services at HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital. With faster imaging capabilities and improved image quality, the scanner supports more accurate and efficient clinical decision-making.
