Major milestone with emergency room ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated at HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital
St. Petersburg, FL — HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital is proud to announce the completion of the first major phase of renovations to its Emergency Department, marking a significant step forward in the hospital’s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
To celebrate this milestone, the hospital will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, November 19 at 1:00pm Community members, local leaders and healthcare partners are invited to attend and tour the newly renovated space.
Open 24/7, the Emergency Department spans over 21,000 square feet and now features a newly installed CT scanner, an upgraded X-ray room and fully renovated patient treatment rooms. Enhancements also include modernized provider workstations, expanded EMS accommodations and a refreshed patient and family waiting area designed for comfort and accessibility.

The Emergency Department renovation is part of a broader $15 million investment across HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital. Additional upgrades include expanded Women’s Services and Oncology offerings, modernized patient accommodations and cutting-edge medical equipment. The hospital recently launched a 24-hour onsite midwife program for laboring mothers and has plans underway to enhance exterior areas, including patient parking and ambulance entrances.
