HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital announces the appointment of Guillermo J. Pierluisi, MD, as its new Chief Medical Officer.

Tampa, FL  — HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital announces the appointment of Guillermo J. Pierluisi, MD, as its new Chief Medical Officer.  Dr. Pierluisi comes to South Tampa Hospital from WellStar Paulding Medical Center in Georgia where he served as the CMO since 2013.  During his time there, he was the recipient of the 2020 Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award.

Previously, Dr. Pierluisi served as Vice President of Emergency Medicine at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Florida and he has also held various leadership roles as a Colonel in the Department of Defense and Army National Guard.

Dr. Pierluisi completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at SUNY in Buffalo, New York.  Following his residency, he went on to obtain a Master in Public Health from the University of Pittsburg and a MBA (Physician Executive) from Auburn University.
