South Tampa Hospital breaks ground on North Dale Mabry Emergency Room
Tampa, FL — HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital and community partners held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, June 26 to ceremoniously begin construction on a freestanding emergency department.
The HCA Florida North Dale Mabry Emergency will be constructed on the property located at 15499 North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa.
The new $16.2 million emergency center is anticipated to open in early 2026 and is a testament to the hospital's commitment to providing advanced and accessible healthcare services to meet the healthcare needs of the growing population in north Tampa and beyond.
“As Tampa continues to grow, so does the need for fast, high-quality emergency care close to home,” said Ned Hill, CEO, HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital. “This new freestanding emergency room reflects our commitment to meeting that need – bringing advanced medical services, shorter wait times, and peace of mind to families right in their neighborhood.”
The ceremony, held on June 26, featured comments from HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital CEO Ned Hill and was attended by community leaders and business partners. Following Hill’s presentation, colleagues and special guests broke ground on the future site of HCA Florida North Dale Mabry Emergency.
This project connects the north Tampa community to HCA Florida Healthcare services already available in Hillsborough County and across the state at more than 650 sites of care. The freestanding emergency room is the second in the county affiliated with HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital.
