HCA Florida South Shore Hospital has been awarded an "A" grade in the 2026 Lown Institute Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility, a national recognition honoring hospitals that excel in delivering high-quality, equitable and high-value care.
The index evaluates more than 3,600 hospitals nationwide using publicly available data and Medicare claims. Hospitals are graded on three core pillars of social responsibility — Equity, Value and Outcomes — through a comprehensive methodology that includes measures of patient outcomes, patient safety, patient satisfaction, community benefit, inclusivity, cost efficiency and avoidance of low-value care.
"This recognition reflects the extraordinary commitment of our physicians, nurses and colleagues who work every day to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to our community," said Cathy Edmisten, chief executive officer of HCA Florida South Shore Hospital. "Earning an "A" grade reinforces our mission to deliver exceptional healthcare while advancing health equity and improving outcomes for every patient we serve."
The recognition underscores HCA Florida South Shore Hospital's ongoing commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of the communities it serves through clinical excellence, compassionate care, and continuous quality improvement.
