HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital and HCA Florida South Shore Hospital are proud to be recognized by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, which has officially proclaimed May 10 through May 16, 2026 as Hospital Week 2026 in Hillsborough County.
The proclamation highlights the vital role these hospitals play in advancing the health and well-being of the community. It recognizes the dedication of healthcare professionals who advocate for patient safety, dignity and respect while delivering high-quality, compassionate care around the clock.
Across Hillsborough County, HCA Florida Healthcare’s hospitals serve as essential pillars of the healthcare system, providing critical services and responding to the community’s needs during both everyday care and times of crisis, including public health challenges and emergency response efforts.
“Hospital Week is a meaningful opportunity to recognize the extraordinary work of our physicians, nurses and colleagues who care for patients every day,” said Kyle Thrift, chief nursing officer at Brandon Hospital. “This proclamation reflects the impact our teams have on the lives of individuals and families throughout Hillsborough County.”
Among those making a difference is Dr. Bradley Bufkin, a cardiovascular surgeon at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, who provides advanced surgical care for patients with complex heart conditions.
“It is an honor to care for patients facing some of the most complex cardiovascular challenges,” said Dr. Bradley Bufkin. “I’m proud to serve individuals and families from across our region, delivering advanced, life-saving care when they need it most.”
The proclamation also encouraged residents to join in recognizing and celebrating the contributions of healthcare professionals throughout the week.
