HCA Florida Northside Hospital is proud to celebrate a major milestone in advanced surgical care. The hospital recently recognized a general surgeon’s achievement of more than 1,700 robotic-assisted procedures — highlighting the depth of experience and commitment to minimally invasive treatment available to patients across the region.

“This milestone is about more than numbers — it’s a reflection of the advanced technology and expert medical teams serving our community,” said Phil Marchesini, chief executive officer of Northside Hospital.

Robotic-assisted surgery allows physicians to perform complex procedures through small incisions, offering patients benefits such as reduced pain, fewer complications, and faster recovery. At Northside Hospital, these techniques are used in general surgery and extend to more advanced specialties, including cardiothoracic care.

Northside Hospital is one of the few facilities in the area where a cardiothoracic surgeon performs minimally invasive open-heart surgery without requiring a full chest incision — an approach that reflects the hospital’s dedication to innovation and patient-centered care.
