Hudson, FL — HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital announced today that its Inpatient Rehabilitation Center has been ranked among the top 10 percent of 892 inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) nationwide, based on national performance results compiled by Netsmart Technologies, Inc., for patient cases discharged between October 2024 and September 2025.
The recognition highlights rehabilitation programs that deliver care that is effective, efficient, timely and centered on helping patients safely return to their highest level of independence.
“We are incredibly proud of our rehabilitation team for achieving this national distinction,” said Sally Seymour, Chief Executive Officer of HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital. “Our colleagues consistently deliver compassionate, expert care to patients recovering from strokes, neurological events, traumatic injuries and other serious conditions. This ranking reflects their dedication to clinical excellence and to the patients and families who trust us with their recovery.”
The evaluation, developed by Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSMR) and utilized by Netsmart, compares inpatient rehabilitation facilities across the country using case mix and severity adjusted measures. These indicators — derived from widely used federal reporting tools — assess patient improvement, efficiency of care and overall outcomes. More than 80 percent of IRFs in the United States participate in this database, making it one of the most comprehensive performance comparisons in the industry.
“Being recognized among the top 10 percent is especially meaningful because it is rooted in patient outcomes,” said Elecia Forsythe, Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital. “Our team works closely with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans that address their goals and support recovery at every step. We are honored to provide this level of care to our community.”
Industry leaders also acknowledged the hospital’s achievement. “We congratulate HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital on this accomplishment and commend their ongoing commitment to high quality rehabilitation care,” said Pawel Wieczorek, Vice President and General Manager of UDSMR. Stephanie Stockton, Manager of Analytical Services at Netsmart, added, “This ranking reflects a deep commitment to exceptional patient outcomes. We are proud to recognize their success.”
This marks the eighteenth year that these performance-based awards have been issued to inpatient rehabilitation facilities nationwide. The program was originally developed following a recommendation from the Institute of Medicine encouraging Medicare providers to improve the measurement and reporting of patient outcomes and quality benchmarks.
