Life-saving stroke care and rapid response times celebrated by HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital and Pasco County Fire Rescue
Hudson, FL — HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital recently reunited with Pasco County Fire Rescue (PCFR) to celebrate a series of stroke cases where rapid emergency medical services (EMS) response and hospital coordination led to remarkable patient recoveries.
During visits to stations, hospital leaders recognized EMS crews for their exceptional speed and precision. In one case, the patent received life-saving treatment just 8 minutes after arriving at the hospital — a door-to-needle time that far exceeds benchmarks.
“These outcomes are a direct result of strong partnerships, shared protocols and a commitment to excellence,” said Dan Brady, Director of EMS Outreach. “When EMS and hospital teams work together seamlessly, patients win.”
All three patients treated in these recent cases made remarkable recoveries, underscoring the importance of rapid stroke intervention. The hospital’s stroke team, in coordination with EMS, continues to refine processes and improve response times to ensure every second counts.
“These outcomes are a powerful reminder of what’s possible when EMS and hospital teams work together with urgency and precision,” said Sally Seymour, CEO of HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital. “We’re proud to partner with EMS and grateful for their dedication to our shared mission — saving lives. Every minute matters and together we’re making those minutes count.”
