HCA Florida Healthcare is celebrating April as National Volunteer Month through its continued commitment to helping people live healthier lives in Suwannee County and the surrounding communities.
More than 30 colleagues from HCA Florida Lake City Hospital came together at Publix Super Market to shop and purchase 570 nonperishable food items to donate to Love In the Name of Christ of Suwannee County (Love INC), a local nonprofit organization funded by United Way of Suwannee Valley. The event was a part of HCA Healthcare’s national We Show Up® for Our Communities initiative that occurs each April to address community needs through volunteering, making charitable donations and partnering with local organizations.
“Caring for our community extends far beyond the walls of our hospital,” said Jill Adams, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. “When we come together as a team to serve, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors — especially by helping ensure families have access to the nourishment they need to thrive.”
We Show Up® for Our Communities is part of HCA Healthcare’s enterprise-wide focus on providing the quality healthcare our patients deserve as well as showing up to address needs in our community. In 2025, more than 11,700 HCA Florida Healthcare colleagues from 650 facilities supported more than 2,000 nonprofits and community organizations across the state. These efforts provided nearly 55,700 volunteer hours and included more than $3.5 million in individual and corporate contributions.
