Brandon Hospital labor delivery nurses and newly trained nurse share major life moments together
When Abby Briggs, newly trained labor and delivery nurse at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, planned her wedding, she invited guests near and dear to her heart. She invited Stephanie Dragseth and Carrie Harper, the nurses who trained her to be a labor and delivery nurse and baby Corbin, who she helped deliver. This special team has shared in one another’s major moments.
“Sharing in life’s biggest moments turns work friends into family and it’s one of the many reasons I love what I do. As nurses, we celebrate new beginnings, support one another through challenges and grow side by side. Those connections, built in the middle of real human experiences, make this work meaningful in ways far beyond the job description,” said Harper.
From day one, when Briggs stepped onto the Labor and Delivery unit at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, she was eager to learn everything about caring for mothers and babies. She brought with her a lot of knowledge that she shared with the labor and delivery team.
When Dragseth went into labor at home, she checked the schedule and was happy to see that Briggs and Harper were working the day shift.
