HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital welcomes new chief of staff, Dr. Tim Carlson
St. Petersburg, FL — HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital announces that Dr. Tim P. Carlson has been elected by the hospital’s medical staff as the new chief of staff, effective July 1, 2025. Dr. Carlson succeeds Dr. Tom Prebish, who has served in the role with distinction and dedication.
In a symbolic moment of leadership transition, Dr. Prebish warmly welcomed Dr. Carlson, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the hospital’s Medical Staff leadership. The hospital community extends its gratitude to Dr. Prebish for his outstanding service and looks forward to continued excellence under Dr. Carlson’s guidance.
Dr. Carlson has an extensive medical background. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Butler University in Indianapolis. He completed postgraduate studies in neuroanatomy at the University of Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science in medicine. After medical school, Dr. Carlson completed the Bayfront Family Practice Residency Program in St. Petersburg, Florida, becoming a family practice physician.
Dr. Carlson is a compassionate physician who cares deeply for the community. He is also a lecturer and is committed to advancing medical education.
