Mark J. Tenholder, MD

Dr. Mark J. Tenholder joined Orthopaedic Associates in August 2004. Dr. Tenholder graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He then completed an orthopaedic surgery internship and residency at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte North Carolina. Dr. Tenholder went on to complete an orthopaedic surgery fellowship at the Insall Scott Kelly Institute in New York, New York. "My goal for treating patients is to make it a pleasant and successful experience. I take pride in providing personable, attentive, and detail-oriented service. This always involves an active dialogue between us, keeping the discussion concise and understandable, including a review of all possible treatment options, of which surgery is typically the last resort. Ultimately, you and I need to form a team, each giving equally to the treatment plan. I also take great pride in my surgical skills and outcomes. I keep up to date on the most advanced technologies and techniques. I have fellowship training in advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive procedures, sports medicine, and joint replacement surgeries. I have further developed skills in computer-generated patient specific custom surgeries. I believe that the success of any surgery not only comes from the actual operation, but also from the aftercare and rehabilitation. I focus on all aspects of care and complete recovery."
