Farhat Mehmood, M.D., earned his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore. His postgraduate training included a Residency in Internal Medicinie at State University of New York followed by Fellowships in Electrophysiology and Cardiology with Aurora St. Luke's Medical Centers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Clinical Echocardiography at University of Alabama in Birmingham
