Care Philosophy
Taking time to carefully listen to my patient's Orthopaedic complaints and understanding how their lives are being affected is critical to successfully treating them. My initial goal is to find non-operative ways to decrease their pain and improve their quality of life. For those patients that end up requiring surgery I try to provide as much information as possible in an effort to guide them through the process and ease their concerns. I believe that developing a productive relationship between the patient and the surgeon ultimately leads to improved outcomes for the people we treat.
Specialized care is becoming more and more common in Orthopaedic surgery. During my education I was fortunate to be taught by some of the leaders in the field of upper extremity surgery. I completed an additional year of specialized training in shoulder and elbow reconstruction, learning the modern techniques in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery and the latest developments in shoulder and elbow replacement. Athletic and degenerative problems of the shoulder and elbow occur frequently, and I like treating these patients so they can return to the activities they enjoy doing.
