Breast health services

At HCA Florida Ocala Hospital Imaging Center, our technologists and radiologists provide diagnostic imaging services. We offer mammograms and breast ultrasounds to help detect and diagnose breast abnormalities, diseases or cancer.

If breast cancer is detected, we offer comprehensive care through our accredited oncology program. Our breast cancer nurse navigator helps patients navigate our breast cancer services, from diagnosis through treatment. This specialist is trained to offer guidance and specialized support for patients with breast cancer.

Bone density testing

Breast cancer treatment can decrease estrogen, which helps protect bones. Additionally, as women age, their estrogen production slows. This can lead to brittle bones and bone fractures.

At HCA Florida Ocala Hospital Imaging Centers, we offer bone density scans to assess risk for osteoporosis, a disease that weakens bones. Also called a bone densitometry scan, this noninvasive, diagnostic procedure uses low-dose X-rays.

Gynecology services

Our expert gynecologists diagnose and treat various conditions related to women's reproductive health.

Recognized by Healthgrades for our excellence in gynecological surgery, we offer robot-assisted surgical procedures. This minimally invasive approach uses advanced technology and offers surgeons greater precision and control. Additionally, patients benefit because the very small incisions mean less scarring, less pain and a quicker return to daily activities.

Our most common gynecological procedures are:

  • Hysterectomy (removal of the uterus)
  • Myomectomy (removal of uterine fibroids)
  • Sacrocolpopexy (correction of prolapse of pelvic floor organs)

Heart disease prevention for women

Heart disease is the leading cause of death among American women, even exceeding cancer-related deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Ocala Health’s HerHeart Program offers vital educational events and healthcare resources to give women the tools to become more involved in their heart health. HerHeart is designed by women for all women.

Female heart disease risk factors

Many women are unaware of the risks of heart disease. Women at high risk of developing heart disease include:

  • Women with a family history of heart disease, stroke or circulation problems
  • Women who are more than 20 pounds overweight
  • Women who exercise less than 30 minutes a day
  • Women with a history of high blood pressure
  • Women with high cholesterol, high low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or low HDL
  • Women who smoke

Take charge of your heart health by joining us for monthly HerHeart seminars. Register online or call (800) 530-1188 to make your reservation.
