Body composition scan
Body composition scanning is a tool used to identify health risks and pinpoint conditions before they develop. This type of scan can also help you reach personal weight loss and fitness goals.
Body composition scanning using dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) is considered the gold standard in body scanning since it provides an accurate, in-depth analysis of your fat, muscle, bone and water mass.
The whole body composition test will show your visceral fat. Visceral fat surrounds your organs and can be linked to metabolic disturbances, such as breast cancer, cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes.
The test also shows the exact location of your lean muscle mass. Evaluating and improving lean muscle mass is important for preventing osteoporosis, pathological conditions and chronic diseases.
The body composition scan assesses your:

Bone densitometry is a test using X-ray images to measure the strength or density of your bones. This screening test is primarily used to detect osteoporosis, which occurs when your bone's mineral level and density are low. Low bone density increases your risk for bone fractures.
A mammogram is our greatest tool for the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer or breast tissue abnormalities. Digital mammography with computer-aided detection (CAD) is specialized medical imaging using a low-dose X-ray system to examine the breasts.

Computerized tomography (CT) scan
We use advanced computerized tomography technology to produce cross-sectional views, or "slices," of the body and its internal organs.
These 3D images from our 64-slice CT scanner are used to detect blood clots, broken bones, cancer, heart disease, internal bleeding and tumors.
Our advanced 64-slice CT scanner provides wide coverage, scanning organs such as the brain, heart, liver and pancreas in a single 0.28 sec rotation.
This advanced technology also delivers high-definition imaging across the entire body, including:

Digital radiography uses digital sensors to transmit X-ray images. Digital X-ray is faster than conventional X-ray imaging and provides optimal image quality. Images are easily transferred and enhanced to provide faster and more accurate diagnosis over plain film.

Fluoroscopy is the use of moving X-ray images to examine the functioning of the body's internal structures in real time. Physicians use fluoroscopy to evaluate the condition of the gastrointestinal tract and joints and to perform certain fertility tests.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
High-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) combines a powerful magnet with an advanced computer system and radio waves to produce accurate, highly detailed pictures of the body. These enhanced images help your doctor diagnose various medical conditions and provide any necessary treatment.
An ultrasound is a noninvasive imaging modality, which uses sound to produce images of soft-tissue bodily structures, such as blood vessels and internal organs.
A regular ultrasound does not show blood flow, which can often pinpoint the cause of disease. A color flow Doppler can be used for high blood flow organs, such as the liver, testicles and ovaries.

Our imaging center offers imaging services nationally accredited by the American College of Radiology, the largest and oldest imaging accrediting body in the U.S. We are ACR-accredited in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and mammography.
