The Women's Center at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital provides you with comprehensive care throughout your pregnancy, childbirth experience and postpartum recovery.

When you choose The Women's Center for your childbirth experience, you will receive support throughout your pregnancy.

Features of our maternity hospital

Our services and amenities include:

  • 24-hour visitation allowed for friends and family
  • All private patient rooms
  • Anesthesiologist on-site 24/7 to assist with emergency cesarean sections
  • Dedicated infant protection system
  • In-room sleeping arrangement for spouse, partner or chosen support person
  • Locked unit for the security of you and your newborn
  • Pain management options, including epidural and intravenous (IV) pain medication
  • Patient rooms featuring a private bathroom, bathtub, couch, television and comfortable furnishings

Experienced labor and delivery team

You can have confidence in the skills and experience of the healthcare professionals that make up our childbirth team. Our team includes a variety of specialists to meet your needs before, during and after delivery. The team includes:

  • Anesthesiologists
  • Gynecologists
  • Labor and delivery nurses
  • Lactation consultants
  • Nurse midwives
  • Obstetricians (OBs)

Postpartum care

New parents can take comfort knowing that our maternity services are designed to ease the stress often associated with the immediate postpartum period. Our staff includes a board-certified lactation consultant who is readily available to assist new mothers with breastfeeding and answer any questions about infant feeding.

Following discharge from the hospital, weekly postpartum lunches (currently being held virtually) are hosted for women who have given birth in The Women's Center. These luncheons offer support and an opportunity to connect with other new mothers. You can enjoy lunch, learn about a variety of parenting and infant-related topics and receive lactation advice in a supportive environment.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Our hospital is home to a brand new 25-bed, Level III NICU located on the third floor of our hospital's South Tower. Our NICU offers medical care to newborns who need extra support following delivery. We care for premature babies born as early as 24 weeks and babies with complicated medical conditions that require additional monitoring and treatment.
