Gina Dickey of Ocala awoke to a feeling she could only describe as "icky."

As the day went on, the feeling grew to an excruciating pain and she rushed to HCA Florida Silver Springs Emergency, where she learned the pain was a heart attack that, without intervention, would have soon killed her.

Gina's life was saved that day by her decision to seek treatment at HCA Florida Silver Springs Emergency and then HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. As Gina’s experience shows, symptoms of a heart attack for women often differ from those felt by men. Those symptoms can include uncomfortable pressure in the chest as well as the back, unusual fatigue, anxiety, an upset stomach, breaking out in a cold sweat, and perhaps more.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in America. Don't ignore the signs. Call 911 or get to a hospital immediately if you experience such symptoms.
