The leapfrog group recognizes Oak Hill Hospital's commitment to patient safety with grade 'A'
Brooksville, FL — HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
Chief Executive Officer Ken Wicker said, “I am so proud of the team at Oak Hill Hospital — the Leapfrog designation is the pinnacle of intentional work performed by each and every person in the hospital.”
Chief Medical Officer David P. Slovut, MD, PhD, MHA agreed. “We are committed to the highest standards of safety at Oak Hill Hospital,” he said. “Being recognized by an independent third party like Leapfrog and earning the highest level of safety is an honor and demonstrates the commitment of our hospital and caregivers to focus every day on the practices that prevent medical errors, injuries and infections.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
