HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital has once again earned an ‘A’ grade for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog focused on patient safety. The organization assigns letter grades to hospitals across the country based on more than 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries, infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

Hospitals that have earned an ‘A’ grade in at least five consecutive grading cycles earn a “straight A” designation from The Leapfrog Group. This highly coveted distinction shows consistent dedication to patient safety.

“We start each day with a commitment and focus on safety and doing what’s right for our patients. We are proud of our trusted reputation in the community and this ‘A’ grade is a direct reflection of the hard work, skill, and compassion of our colleagues,” said Joe Rudisill, CEO of HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital.

“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital, its leadership, clinicians, staff, and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.” Hospital safety grades are updated twice a year, in the fall and spring.
