Sonna Harding announced as chief nursing officer of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital
Ocala, FL – HCA Healthcare Ocala Hospital announced today the appointment of Sonna Harding, DNP, RN as chief nursing officer of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. In her new role, Harding oversees the 323-bed facility located in the heart of Ocala, which has served North Central Florida communities for nearly 50 years. Harding previously served as the CNO of HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital.
“Sonna is a compassionate and engaged healthcare leader of integrity who has served in multiple leadership roles with HCA Healthcare during her more than six years with the company,” said Alan Keesee, chief executive officer, HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. “Under her leadership, all nursing departments were recognized by HCA’s Unit of Distinction award program, the organization sustained zero hospital acquired infections, and all-time ‘best’ outcomes for nurse retention were achieved through her emphasis on support and engagement.”
Prior to her role at HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital, Harding served for two years as the assistant chief nursing officer at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. Her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic built deep relationships with our frontline caregivers and medical staff. In total, Harding has served in nursing leadership for 24 years, of which six have been with HCA.
Sonna received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University, Associate Degree in Nursing (AND) from Marion Technical College, and started as a licensed practical nurse straight out of high school. Her progression in the nursing profession speaks to her passion for clinical care.
