St. Petersburg, FL — HCA Florida Northside Hospital is proud to introduce a next-generation computed tomography (CT) imaging system that’s transforming the way we care for patients — especially when it comes to heart health.

A CT scan creates detailed internal images of a patient’s body to help detect diseases, injuries and tumors. Compared to conventional CT scanners, this new system at Northside Hospital delivers faster, clearer, and more comfortable scans.

The new technology is part of the ongoing commitment to medical innovation and superior healthcare through cutting-edge equipment which has resulted in a $25 million allocation over the past year and a half.

“We are looking at critical healthcare needs in our community and investing in people, processes and systems that will ensure those needs are met to the highest standard possible,” said Chief Executive Officer Phil Marchesini. “The journey continues to raise the bar on care and continue making significant additions that enhance patient care and their experience with us.”

Northside Hospital’s new CT imaging is also a game-changer for heart care. Doctors can see the heart in motion and detect blockages and other issues with better precision.

Patients will appreciate this new system thanks to its quieter and more open design to reduce anxiety.

Other areas of investment at Northside Hospital include a new catheterization lab, new state-of-the-art MRI, new lab instruments to handle the nearly 1,000 tests a day, and other surgical enhancements.
