North Florida Hospital announces the appointment of Alex Gumiroff, MD as chief medical officer
Gainesville, FL — HCA Florida North Florida Hospital today announced the appointment of Alex Gumiroff, MD, MBA, FACOG, as chief medical officer for the 523-bed HCA Florida North Florida Hospital, its affiliated freestanding emergency rooms: HCA Florida Gainesville Emergency, HCA Florida Millhopper Emergency, HCA Florida West End Emergency and HCA Florida Starke Emergency, and its outpatient centers. Dr. Gumiroff comes to Gainesville from HCA Florida Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee, located in Palm Beach County.

Prior to joining Palms West in 2023, Dr. Gumiroff served as the system medical director of obstetrical services at Lee Health, in Fort Myers, Fla., where he oversaw services and operations across five hospitals. At that time, he also served as OB-GYN Chair at HealthPark Medical Center and as clinical site director for OB Hospitalist Group. Dr. Gumiroff has also trained medical, physician assistant and nurse practitioner students in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Dr. Gumiroff earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. Matthew’s University and is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. He also has a Master of Business Administration from Davenport University and a master’s degree in health services administration from St. Joseph’s College.
