HCA Florida JFK Hospital is proud to announce two significant leadership appointments that further strengthen the hospital’s commitment to excellence, patient safety, and operational performance.

The hospital is pleased to welcome Michael Schumacher, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, CPHQ, CPPS, as its new vice president of quality. Schumacher joins from HCA Florida Northwest Hospital, where he also served as vice president of quality. In many ways, this new role represents a homecoming: he began his HCA Healthcare career in 2021 at HCA Florida JFK North Hospital and now returns to Palm Beach County to lead quality and patient safety initiatives at HCA Florida JFK Hospital.

Schumacher brings extensive experience in quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. He earned a master’s degree in nursing administration from California State University, Caron, California and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from San Diego State University, San Diego, California.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michael back to the JFK family,” said Ken West, CEO of HCA Florida JFK Hospital. “His expertise and passion for improving clinical outcomes will play a pivotal role in advancing our commitment to excellence and patient safety.”

HCA Florida JFK Hospital is also proud to announce the promotion of Anthony Terranova to vice president of operations. Terranova joined the organization as an Administrative Resident through HCA Healthcare’s Executive Residency Program and quickly distinguished himself through his dedication, strategic mindset, and steady leadership. His strong performance earned him a promotion to Assistant Administrator, and now, to vice president of operations.

Throughout his tenure, Terranova has demonstrated exceptional commitment to operational excellence, collaboration, and service to patients, physicians, and colleagues. He earned a master’s in health administration from George Washington University in Washington, DC and bachelor of science degree in health administration from University of Scranton in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

“Anthony has been an invaluable part of our team,” West said. “His ability to build strong partnerships, solve complex problems, and support our teams makes him exceptionally well-suited for this new leadership role. We are excited for the innovation and energy he will continue to bring to our organization.”

These leadership additions reinforce HCA Florida JFK Hospital’s mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and support healthier tomorrows for the communities of Palm Beach County.
