HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital recently opened a newly renovated cardiac catherization lab. This expands the hospital’s ability to deliver advanced cardiac and electrophysiology (EP) care to area residents. The new lab features all new equipment and the latest life-saving technology. A large crowd of local cardiologists, nurses, cardiovascular services staff and leaders gathered to cut the ribbon to open the new space recently.

“We have brand new, state-of-the-art technology to serve Sarasota and beyond. In addition to the new equipment, this allows us to expand our services and with that we are expanding our team. This will create at least ten new jobs, including highly skilled nursing jobs. All this is very beneficial to our community,” said Joe Rudisill, CEO of HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital.

“This helps our patients. This broadens our spectrum of care, so that means we can help more patients have better outcomes,” said Sabry Omar, M.D. cardiologist and medical director of cardiac services at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. Dr. Omar said he will use the lab for left and right heart catherization, stents and advanced cardiac interventions.

The new cath lab features new imaging systems, a renovated procedure suite, control room and modernized work spaces. This will allow physicians to perform a wider range of complex procedures with greater precision and help with patient comfort and efficiency.
