Every second counts in a cardiac emergency — and you could be the difference between life and death.

Community members are invited to attend a free hands-only CPR training session on Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 10:00am to noon at Solis Hall in Downtown Wellen Park, located at 19745 Wellen Park Blvd., Venice, FL 34293.

The training, hosted by emergency teams from HCA Florida Tamiami Trail Emergency (Port Charlotte), HCA Florida Venice Doctors Emergency (Venice) and HCA Florida Wellen Park Emergency (Venice) will teach participants how to respond quickly and effectively when someone experiences cardiac arrest.

According to the American Heart Association, hands-only CPR can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival. In fact, more than 350,000 lives are saved each year in the United States thanks to bystander CPR.

Participants will learn:

  • The two simple steps of hands-only CPR
  • How to provide life-saving care until professional help arrives
  • Tips and guidance from specially trained emergency professionals

Light refreshments will be served. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (844) 630-5295. The deadline to RSVP is Friday, Aug. 22.

Please note: This is not a certified course and does not include CPR instruction for infants or children.

Be prepared. Be confident. Be the reason someone survives.
