Fawcett Hospital colleagues give back by volunteering at local food bank
Port Charlotte, FL — Colleagues from HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital recently stepped away from their daily roles to give back to the community by volunteering at Harry Chapin Food Bank Southwest Florida, supporting efforts to fight hunger and food insecurity across the region.
During the volunteer event, hospital team members assisted with sorting, packing, and distributing food to families in need. The experience reinforced the hospital’s ongoing commitment to caring for the community both inside and outside its walls.
“Serving our community goes beyond the care we provide within the hospital,” said Michael Ehrat, chief executive officer at Fawcett Hospital. “Our colleagues are passionate about making a difference, and volunteering at the local food bank is one meaningful way they continue to live out our mission of compassion and service.”
Food insecurity remains a critical issue for many families in the area, and partnerships with organizations like Harry Chapin help ensure neighbors have access to nutritious meals. Hospital colleagues volunteered their time and energy to support these efforts, demonstrating teamwork and a shared dedication to community well-being.
Fawcett Hospital is proud of its colleagues for their generosity and commitment to giving back and looks forward to continued community partnerships that make a lasting impact. For more information about the hospital and its community outreach initiatives, visit the HCA Florida Healthcare website.
