HCA Florida Englewood Hospital named among Nation's Top 5% for Patient Safety
HCA Florida Englewood Hospital has been recognized with the prestigious 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ from Healthgrades, placing it among the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for patient safety. This marks the seventh consecutive year (2019-2025) the hospital has ranked among the top 10% or better in the nation for patient safety performance.

- Cardiac - Pacemaker Procedures (2025)
- Orthopedic - Hip Fracture Treatment for 10 Years in a Row (2016-2025)
- Critical Care - Treatment of Diabetic Emergencies for 3 Years in a Row (2023-2025)

Healthgrades evaluates approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide using risk-adjusted complication and mortality rates to determine top-performing facilities. Patients treated at hospitals recognized with the Patient Safety Excellence Award experienced significantly lower risks for these complications:
- 54% less likely to experience an in-hospital fall resulting in fracture
- 55% less likely to suffer a collapsed lung due to a procedure or surgery in or around the chest

- 72% less likely to contract a catheter-related bloodstream infection
