HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital proudly congratulate Gavin Aull on being selected as a recipient of the prestigious 2026 Patricia Frist Memorial Scholarship.
Named in honor of the late Patricia Frist, philanthropist and wife of HCA Healthcare co-founder Dr. Thomas Frist Jr., the merit-based scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement and leadership. Funded by the HCA Healthcare Foundation, the scholarship awards up to $5,000 toward higher education expenses for eligible dependent children of HCA Healthcare colleagues.
Gavin is the son of Dr. Cody Aull, a board-certified ear, nose and throat specialist on the medical staff at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital.
"I feel incredibly honored and grateful to receive the Frist Scholarship and for its investment in my future, and I hope to make the most of it," said Gavin.
This fall, Gavin will attend Mississippi State University, where he plans to study civil engineering with the goal of becoming a structural engineer.
"I hope to design safe, innovative and long-lasting buildings and structures while helping improve the communities where people live and work," Gavin said. "Long-term, I'd like to work for a leading structural engineering firm in Florida, continue developing my skills, and eventually take on leadership roles within the profession."
