Inverness, FL — HCA Florida Citrus Hospital will host a Cancer Survivorship Seminar, The Power of Art Therapy in Healing and Recovery, on Tuesday, July 28 at 2:00pm at the Citrus Memorial Health Foundation YMCA located at 4127 W. Norvell Bryant Hwy in Lecanto.
The seminar will explore how art therapy can support emotional healing, reduce stress and foster resilience for cancer survivors and their loved ones. Attendees will learn how creative expression can positively impact emotional wellbeing during and after cancer treatment and participate in an interactive art experience designed to encourage self-expression and connection.
As part of the session, participants will create a decorative keepsake during a hands-on craft activity titled “Kick Can-cer!” Using decoupage techniques and personal artistic touches, attendees will transform a crushed can into a meaningful symbol of strength, resilience and recovery.
Cancer survivorship begins at diagnosis and includes anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer, regardless of where they are in their journey. This seminar offers a supportive environment where survivors, caregivers and loved ones can come together to learn, create and connect.
Benefits of participation include:
- Encouraging relaxation and mindfulness
- Supporting emotional expression and healing
- Building confidence and a sense of accomplishment
- Fostering connection with fellow survivors
The seminar is part of HCA Florida Citrus Hospital’s quarterly cancer survivorship initiative, which supports the wellbeing of patients throughout their survivorship journey.
The event is open to cancer survivors, caregivers and loved ones. Seating is limited, and an RSVP is required. Call (844) 630-5295 or visit the Classes and Events page to reserve a seat.
