Volunteers

If you are motivated to donate your time and talents, we invite you to join the dedicated volunteers at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon, FL.

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital Auxiliary

Founded in 1977 by the Brandon Women's Service League, the HCA Florida Brandon Hospital Auxiliary has expanded its role and programs to keep pace with the needs of a rapidly growing community.

Today, the Auxiliary totals more than 200 volunteers who perform a wide range of services for the patients, guests and staff of HCA Florida Brandon Hospital.

Scholarships

The Auxiliary is a nonprofit organization. Proceeds from the hospital gift shops and other volunteer fundraisers are used to provide scholarships for people in the Brandon area pursuing careers in the medical field.

The scholarships are awarded based on financial need, and more than one million dollars have been given to students since the program's inception in 1977. Also, approximately $20,000 is distributed to various local charities each year.

Auxiliary membership

Membership is open to persons 18 years of age or older. To apply for membership in the HCA Florida Brandon Hospital Auxiliary, complete and return a membership application to the Auxiliary. Applicants will be contacted for an interview. Qualified applicants will need to complete appropriate paperwork, including a background check, and attend orientation.

Job-specific training will occur in the service selected by the applicant. Members volunteer for three-hour shifts once a week and must complete a minimum of 75 hours a year to remain an active member of the Auxiliary.
