Brandon Hospital responds to needs of local women and children by supporting Hope for Her
Hope for Her will be able to purchase necessities for local moms and children.
HCA Florida Brandon Hospital donated $5,000 to Hope for Her to support the non-profit’s efforts to help women and children through difficult circumstances. Hope for Her is a safe place for women experiencing crisis and trauma to find the strength, support and skills they need to rebuild their best lives.
“We have run low on children’s underwear and socks, necessities for families. We feel fortunate that when our community has urgent needs, we can call on HCA Florida Brandon Hospital for assistance. Hope for Her would like to thank Brandon Hospital for their recent donation,” said Cheryl Hickman, executive director of Hope for Her.
“Children are in need right now in our community. We want to assist Hope for Her, a non-profit that plays a vital role in helping families cope and work through challenging circumstances. It is part of our values to care for our patients like family, which extends to our greater community,” said Tripp Owings, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Brandon Hospital.
Every day, women facing homelessness, hunger, job loss, domestic violence and other serious life issues seek assistance from Hope for Her — 80% of whom are single moms caring for kids. They and their children often have nowhere else to turn. At Hope for Her, dedicated staff and volunteers work one-on-one with women to help restore their confidence and self-worth, remove barriers to safety and survival, and rebuild critical life skills to thrive.
