Tampa, FL — Florida South Tampa Hospital’s Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center is shining a spotlight on chronic wound risks during Wound Care Awareness Week (June 9-13) and celebrating the recent remodeling of its facility designed to enhance patient care, comfort and healing. Wound care is a critical component of healthcare that often goes unnoticed, yet it plays a pivotal role in facilitating healing, preventing complications, and improving overall quality of life for patients.  The hospital’s team of wound care experts are dedicating the entire week to educating physicians, patients and the community about the prevalence of chronic wounds and the advanced wound care solutions available.

“The Wound Care Center at South Tampa Hospital is focused on a team approach, dedicated to healing and providing hope and compassion.  We offer personalized, evidence-based care in a facility that supports the highest level of service,” said Dr. Thanh Nguyen, general surgeon at the Wound Care Center.  “Wound Care Awareness Week is the perfect time to welcome patients back into our newly renovated space.”

South Tampa Hospital’s Wound Care Center provides comprehensive care, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, for patients suffering from wounds that have not responded to conventional treatment, often helping to prevent amputations and improve the quality of life.
