HCA Florida Blake Hospital breaks ground on freestanding emergency department
HCA Florida Blake Hospital announced the development of a freestanding emergency department to serve patients in Palmetto, Florida.
Bradenton, FL – HCA Florida Blake Hospital has announced the groundbreaking of a freestanding emergency department to serve patients in the Palmetto and Parrish communities. The new emergency department, HCA Florida Palmetto Emergency, is located at 902 10th Street East, Palmetto, FL 34221. The 10,800 square foot facility is a part of HCA Florida Blake Hospital and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with full-service emergency services, including laboratory, x-rays, CT scanning and ultrasound.

HCA Florida Palmetto Emergency is anticipated to open to the public in the summer of 2024. The new emergency department will fill a crucial healthcare gap north of the Manatee River. “For years, there has been a great need for medical services north of the Manatee River and we are absolutely thrilled to have HCA Blake Hospital erecting a free-standing emergency room in Palmetto,” said City of Palmetto Mayor, Shirley Bryant. “This will truly impact lives in our city and beyond. The new HCA Florida Blake Hospital emergency room is just what we needed.”
The groundbreaking ceremony, held October 31, featured speeches by HCA Florida Blake Hospital CEO, Steve Young, and City of Palmetto Mayor Shirley Bryant before hospital board members, staff and special guests broke ground on the future site of the HCA Palmetto Emergency. This project comes on the 50th anniversary of Blake Hospital and is a testament to the commitment of HCA Florida Blake Hospital to continue providing advanced and accessible healthcare services to the communities it serves.
