Our complete cardiac services

Whether you first become aware of a heart problem during a trip to our emergency room (ER) or during a routine checkup at your physician’s office, we can help.

Heart screening and imaging

We offer a range of diagnostic services, assessments and labs to identify heart issues as well as vascular diseases, such as peripheral artery disease.

Diagnostic cardiovascular tests we perform include:

  • Computerized tomography (CT) scans: These scans combine several X-rays to create a detailed image of the heart's interior, helping us find blockages or other conditions.
  • Echocardiograms: These tests use ultrasound waves to create images of the heart’s chambers and valves to help determine how the heart is contracting.
  • Electrocardiograms (EKGs or ECGs): Patients who need heart or vascular care may begin the treatment process with this heart exam, which is an electrical tracing of the heart’s conduction system.
  • Electrophysiology (EP) studies: This study uses catheters (thin, flexible tubes) and wire electrodes to build a 3D model of the heart and map electrical activity. The results help us pinpoint abnormal heartbeats (arrhythmias) and create a personalized treatment plan for you.
  • Stress tests: This test is used to see how well the heart functions during exercise. For patients who can’t walk on treadmills, we offer pharmacological stress tests which use medication to mimic the effects of exercise on the heart.

Cardiac catheterization

If your doctor finds signs of heart disease or a similar condition, you may be referred to our Heart Institute's Cardiac Catheterization Lab for diagnostic or therapeutic care. Here, we perform cardiac catheterizations and other procedures to both diagnose and treat heart conditions.

Our lab team includes highly skilled and specially trained cardiologists, radiologists and registered nurses. They use several types of heart imaging tests, including EKGs and stress tests, to identify your heart problems and develop your treatment plan.

The lab also functions as an operating room where we can perform emergency heart procedures, transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVRs) and cardiac device implants.

Vascular care

We provide therapeutic care for a range of conditions affecting the vascular system — the network of arteries and veins that carries blood throughout the body.

Vascular conditions we treat

Common vascular conditions we treat include:

Heart and vascular surgery

If surgery is necessary, our cardiovascular surgeons are highly skilled at performing a range of heart and vascular surgeries. From open-heart surgery to minimally invasive valve replacements, we have the expertise and facilities to surgically treat your condition and return you to optimal heart health.

Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Our dedicated operating suites are backed by a state-of-the-art CVICU. The CVICU is staffed by heart specialists who provide high-quality care, compassion and comfort as you recover from heart surgeries.
