HCA Florida Blake Hospital donates $10,000 to support Meals on Wheels PLUS

Bradenton, Fla. — HCA Florida Blake Hospital is proud to announce a $10,000 donation made to Meals on Wheels PLUS to support The Food Bank of Manatee program. This contribution underscores HCA Florida Healthcare’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the health and vitality of the local community.

HCA Florida Blake Hospital recognizes the impact of food insecurity on the health and well-being of individuals and families. Meals on Wheels PLUS is renowned for its work in providing nutritious meals to seniors and individuals facing challenges accessing proper nutrition. The Manatee County Food Bank program, an integral part of this effort, helps alleviate hunger and improve the overall health of residents in the Manatee County community.

Throughout the month of November, caregivers at HCA Florida Blake Hospital donated canned food and non-perishable items as part of HCA Healthcare’s nationwide Healthy Foods for Healthier Tomorrows initiative. Last year, HCA Healthcare colleagues across the country provided 878,000 nutritious meals for local food banks by donating food or making financial contributions.
